Community Champions
The Community Health Champions programme is a volunteering initiative to promote health and wellbeing in Bromley. Community Health Champions are residents willing to share health information among their families, community networks and fellow residents.
Community Champions are an essential channel to communicate One Bromley health messages and bring local people and services together to:
• improve health and wellbeing
• transfer knowledge
• help reduce health inequalities across different groups in the area
Common activities of a champion include:
• Receiving updates and information from One Bromley Community Champions team
• Sharing health messages using a variety of channels (face to face, email, phone, WhatsApp, social media channels) and formats (one to one, groups)
• Encouraging and supporting others to follow a healthy lifestyle and signposting them to local groups and services
• Support the design of messaging to the community.
• Making links with existing groups and networks that may want to be involved in health and wellbeing
• Joining training opportunities and celebration events
• Activities may vary on length and location, and can be performed on an individual level or as a team

Patient Participation Groups
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of volunteer patients, carers, and GP practice staff who meet regularly to discuss and enhance the services offered by their GP practice. Practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) are actively inviting patients to join their local PPGs. If you would like to contribute to improving healthcare services in your community, please visit your GP practice website. Your PCN’s website also has information on how to get involved.
